Your Brain
You have to want to change, almost as much as you want to breathe
Most people pass through their whole lives suppressing their best selves,
because they have old negative patterns that keep them low grade.
We take a deep look into what beliefs you are carrying with you that no longer serve a purpose,
which is more interesting than you may think right now.
by most people, but requires a rare willingness to do what that takes.
In fact, most people don’t dare to go inside themselves, so they live in complete isolation, even from themselves.
To be able to break the habit of being your old self, you have to know your reasons why,
and those reasons must be so big that they will float you through when your habitual self is fighting you to stay the same.
What are you thinking about?
automatic behaviors, beliefs, and emotional reactions.
That’s 42 to 49 per minute, breaking it down to the second average of roughly one thought every 1.2 to 1.4 seconds,
running continuously through both your waking and sleeping hours. So, what are you thinking about?
The Science of Thoughts
For example, if you think stressful thoughts, your brain manufactures a chemical called ACTH,
which signals your adrenal glands to flood your body with adrenaline and cortisol.
and you physically experience the sensation of insecurity.
Thoughts belong to the brain, feelings belong to the body,
and because your thoughts communicate instantly with your body creating the feeling corresponding to your thought,
keep in mind 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day, the brain and body together form the habit.
The body becomes addicted to the chemical that the thoughts produce, which creates the feeling.
Your brain puts up a fight
Unfortunately, it’s not able to differentiate between right and wrong, what’s good for you or what’s bad for you.
Remember, it doesn’t like change, even when it’s for your greatest good.
Now you want to change? Suddenly? Not so fast!
A few hours go by, now it’s feeding time and it wants its habitual thoughts,
your body wants its chemicals, you know the same ones you’ve been feeding it for the past 35 or so years.
Old habits die hard
Your brain can access a habitual thought or memory in as little as 150 to 300 milliseconds—
which is twice as fast as the blink of an eye.
It behaves less like a search engine and more like water immediately rushing down a pre-carved canyon.
or annoyed before you have even consciously processed why you feel that way.
And it’s what happened when you found yourself with that last drink in your hand or self-medicated.
You’ve been pulled from the wreckage
During this time, you will be highly educated about your wonderful brain, and once you know how it works,
you will be both amazed and relieved…But, not before some discomfort…
The only way that you do have a chance to change is by shedding awareness
and understanding into the brain and how it behaves.
So that you become super self-aware, you eventually can spot the takeover before it happens.
At first you will be just left with the feeling but as you interrupt these patterns, by replacing old thoughts with new ones,
you start to make new pathways and habits of thinking.
To truly change the pattern, we first have to understand where it began.
Know Thyself…Everyone is counting on you
